Christmas or OBLIGATION?

Why? I'm not sure....Every year millions of people buy all those gifts the really can't afford, but they still do it...

Now, don't get me wrong, I love christmas and I'm not a grinch. But I feel as if sometimes some people might buy gifts because of "OBLIGATION". I really hate to feel obligated,,don't you? If you are required to buy someone a present because of obligation you always have questions running thru your mind.

1. What should I buy them? Heck you probably don't really know what they need or want anyway.

2. How much should I spend? Too much and your afraid they might feel obligated. Too little and you feel as If your a cheapskate.

OBLIGATION---don't we live it every day? school, wife, girlfriend, kids, work, home, money (where does it end)?????? Why should we feel obligated on a holiday?

At christmas you should only concern yourself with your immediate family if your financial situation is a concern. Don't put yourself in debt and feel miserable for months to come due to "OBLIGATION"!

Most people totally throw out a budget during christmas. As a rule of thumb I would suggest only spending about 2 weeks net household income during a christmas season.
